The fear of job loss due to AI is growing, especially with the idea of a strong artistic AI that creates independently without human input. This project explores AI‘s role in the design process and whether creative work can be fully automated. The goal is to let AI generate forms with minimal intervention while analyzing the aesthetic differences between AI generated and manually designed objects.
A workflow was developed to transform AI-generated 2D shapes into 3D models using Midjourney, Python, Adobe Illustrator, Grasshopper, and ceramic 3D printing. While AI assisted in form generation, human refinement was essential due to high error rates. This study reveals that AI is a tool rather than a replacement, raising questions about automation, aesthetic standardization, and human creativity in an AI-driven design landscape.
